I have some tenderness under the second and third toenails of my left foot. This is usually a sign of fatigue. When I tire, I tend to claw my toes. If this continues, I’ll start seeing blood collecting underneath my toenails and blisters form on the tips of my toes. I may back off on the miles, or I may just pay a little more attention to keeping my toes extended and relaxed.

It’s still too early to see significant fitness improvement. Today’s run was a modified Galloway approach. I jogged 2 miles to start and walked a half-mile to recover. I then alternated ~5 minutes running with 1 minute walking. Last mile started out jogging, progressively increased my pace, and ended at about 70% full stride.

I’ve yet to feel the effects of this week’s increased mileage. I could end up this week with 150-200% more total miles than last week. The general rule-of-thumb is to avoid increasing mileage more than 30% a week. However, I haven’t established a baseline weekly mileage total. Monday, I’ll have a better idea where to start.

Probably pushing it too hard :-(

BTW, used your training info. to create a log sheet for my sis so she can start logging her performance. Thought you might be interested to see “graphically” how you’ve been performing … not bad you're doing good - I hope you find it handy.

Oops ... not sure how to send attachment thru blog - I'll email it instead
