Whether you subscribe to a melting pot, mosaic, or other model of America, it is hard to deny that our culture is rooted in and grows richer from the experiences of those from other lands. Inspired by Marcus Samuelsson’s, “No Passport Required” (https://www.pbs.org/show/no-passport-required/), and cookbooks like, “Recipes for Refuge, Culinary Journeys To America”, I hope to spend some time with food from around the world. I aim to highlight how, in this time of physical distancing, a closeness or community of diverse social and cultural influences can define a common nutrition, American Food.
