Although I consider myself more of a sprint to middle distance runner, I am no stranger to long distance running. I’ve had stretches of 7-10 mile daily runs and long runs over 20 miles. I’ve run a few marathons. But for some reason, I’ve had a hard time running 6 miles at a clip the past two weeks. Part of the problem is that my new loop is almost exactly 3.1 miles. Knocking off one isn’t tough, but having to commit to a whole other lap proved too daunting. Today many things fell just right so I went for it. I went for a second lap. Guess what? Not such a big deal. Sometimes I can be a little soft.
